Custom Drywall Designs

Drywall art uses accessories, adaptive materials, and drywall textures to create stunning designs and concepts. The trick is for our drywall contractors to be creative and use ordinary materials to their advantage. Art can come in many forms, one of them been texture. Textured walls and ceilings are more and more common than just a smooth finish. These create beautiful features throughout the home or work place and offer a unique experience to the viewer.

We love when our clients feel right at home in their space and so bringing their creative ideas to life is something we have come to do great at. So reach out today with the ideas you have for your home and let us help you bring them to life.

5 Types of Drywall Textures

Texturing is the simplest way for a designer or an interior decorator to give a simple room a unique and sophisticated touch. The following are some of the unique textures that we create:

Orange Peel Texture

This is the most common type of texture among remodeling designers. This is because it is simple to apply{You just spray it and let it dry} as one person can easily do it. An orange peel finish is applied by spraying drywall mud on a wall and using an air compressor connected to a special nozzle. Once it dries, the wall will look like it has an orange peel design.

Skip Trowel texture

A skip trowel texture is made using special tools known as hawk and trowel. Plaster is applied in a mound located at the center of the hawk, and then plaster is applied on the wall using a flat rectangular trowel. The effect of this is a decorated wall that has straight-line textures that overlap each other.

A Knockdown Finish

A knockdown texture creates a knockdown ceiling. It is made by spraying drywall mud using an air compressor similar to when creating an orange peel texture. However, the main difference between this and an orange peel texture is that a knockdown finish is created using larger droplets.

After it has partly dried, a drywall knife is run across the wall knocking down the droplets creating a knockdown finish.

Slap Brush Texture

We advocate for a slap brush texture when there are imperfections on the wall. It is created using a crows-foot or a stomp brush. The finish is created by applying a smooth layer of drywall compound on the wall and then using a brush to create twisting or shaking designs.

Mud Swirl Texture

A mud swirl texture is a type of finish that comprises circular or spinning patterns that look like they are stacked in rows. This finish is applied by applying a thin coat of mud on the ceiling and then dragging a stiff bristle to create the desired circular motion. Unlike other types of textured ceiling, this type of design requires highly skilled contractors to pull through.

Unique Finishing Looks to Consider

Random Decoration Figures on the Ceiling

This idea will depend on your creativity. For example, you can decide to have pyramid-shaped figures on a white ceiling with blue lighting at the top. You can also choose to have a butterfly figure in your child's room and a gigantic ship in the sitting room. The key to its success is that you engage with a professional from the word go as they will help with the sketch and installation.

Drywall Shelves

These can be a book shelve or a decorative shelf. Once you get an excellent shelf design on the internet, give us a call, and we will do the rest. The first is to understand what the shelf will be used for and where you want it placed. This will help us to determine its weight load and ideal measurement. If the frame is designed to accommodate heavy objects, it will be reinforced using welded brackets.

Wallboard Cabinets

Are you looking to add some wallboard cabinets to your bedroom? We got you sorted. There are hundreds of cabinet designs to choose from. Since gypsum is a versatile product, we can install beautiful lighting effects that automatically turns off when the cabinet door is closed. The only drawback to this type of cabinet is that it can not be easily moved from one place to another. Therefore, it must be installed in a permanent location.

 Decorative Plasterboard Partitions

You can install decorative plasterboard partitions to get rid of hollow spaces and to showcase awards, ornaments, and different vintage collections that you may have. It is wise to involve an electrician who will help create various lighting effects, such as blue and red lighting effects. These effects help make your house more classy and warm.

Use of 3D Wallpapers

You can add more flair to your wallboard by having 3D wallpapers in the hallway or bedroom. The 3D wallpaper should be intriguing, high quality, and add depth and sophistication to the house.

Coffee Table

Sometimes, after a sheetrock project has been completed, there can be plenty of gypsum waste lying on the ground. In this case, the gypsum waste can be used to build a coffee table instead of throwing them away. We do this by first creating a frame and then covering it with sheetrock sheets. Other products that can be made using gypsum waste are a table and a stool.

Use of Plasterboard in Creating Window Slopes

Gypsum can be used as a window slope because of its moisture-resistant abilities. When wood is used instead, it might rot, increasing your maintenance cost. Also, gypsum slopes will increase your home's aesthetic beauty because they can accommodate a wide range of designs.

A Mural Painting

If you are an art enthusiast, then you should try a mural painting. A mural painting is paint that is directly painted on a wall. This can either be a 2D painting or a 3D painting of nature, forests, or animals like lions and elephants. For this to work, you will require highly trained painters as the artwork has to be perfect.

A Sheetrock Bar Counter

Contrary to popular belief, gypsum products are not functionally inferior when compared to more analog materials. It is much easier to create a gypsum bar counter when compared to creating a wooden bar counter. You can go a step further and create moisture-resistant kitchen furniture that will serve you for many years to come.
